Back to all Artists

Born in Nelson, New Zealand in 1965, Phil Price was educated at Christchurch then specialized in sculpture at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1990. He worked initially as an Artist's technical assistant and then in a variety of positions in the art world, in education and in composite engineering.

Since 2005 Price has focused on his sculpture practice, working principally on large scale works for the outdoor environment. Phil Price's name is synonymous with large scale, wind-activated kinetic sculpture.

He is represented in public and private collections throughout Australasia. Price is currently developing a major exhibition of new works scheduled to tour in New Zealand and internationally in 2008.
